Choose the best grill for your personality.

Our Grill Expo is this Saturday & Sunday, May 19 & 20, and Warners’ Stellian is offering the lowest prices of the year. We have cooking demos and samples to taste the distinct flavor results from the latest gas grills, charcoal grills, pellet grills and smokers to help you find the perfect grill.

Each grill has its own characteristics that work well for different personality types, but we’ll go over your custom needs when you stop by this weekend. In the meantime, consider some traits that would describe you and see if our suggested match is a fit.

Adventurous – Big Green Egg

You’d prefer traveling to Naples for authentic wood fire pizza, but you can make your own version at home with Big Green Egg. This slow BBQ grill needs minimal supervision so you can multi-task.

Like you, not even subzero weather can keep this grill indoors. Big Green Egg’s ceramic shell and unique kamado shape stay insulated so it can heat up over 700 degrees. If you want to smoke a brisket overnight in the middle of January, the Big Green Egg is for you.

Techy – Napoleon 44″ Prestige PRO

You’re smart with many skills to offer, so no one’s surprised you’re a grilling genius too. For you, the Napoleon Prestige PRO is as wonderfully nerdy as it gets without breaking the bank.

Get inventive with infrared burners, LED control knobs, and powerful JetFire ignition. Along with gadgets for numerous cooking variations, you’ll get a Bluetooth thermometer for temperature accuracy. Bonus: add a charcoal tray insert and cook over coals powered by the electric ignition when you feel like mixing it up.

Artistic – Primo Oval XL Ceramic Smoker and Grill

While others think grills are just for burgers, you see the potential for culinary splendor. The American-made Primo Oval is a ceramic grill that offers more space and versatility than a kamado.

You have complete control over heat and consistency with opportunity for both direct and indirect heat zones. The Primo Grill’s adaptability means only your creativity limits your ability. You can roast, smoke, flambé, fricasse, carmelize…

Chill – Traeger Wood Pellet Smoker

You’re easy going and you get along with everyone because you’re open-minded and laid back. You appreciate activities that match your no-fuss, no-muss style.

Try a Traeger wood pellet smoker. Pellets come in various flavors for getting creative with your smoked salmon and avocado salsa. If your mellow ever becomes a bit lazy, it’s OK since Traegers require little effort. Simply add flavored wood pellets, plug in the grill to electrical power, set the temperature and your meat probe – if desired – and delicious results will arrive.

Traeger Pro

Traditional – Weber Summit

You’re traditionally classy and you’re proud of your roots. You never have to change because you improve with age. Maybe you love charcoal grilling, but you want to kick it up a notch.

The Weber Summit is the porcelain Cadillac of charcoal grills, and it has a spacious 452 square inches of cooking area with weather resistant storage space. Also enjoy the One-Touch cleaning system, gas ignition, and slow cook and smoke settings. If charcoal isn’t your preference, there is gas version of the Summit with different features.

Social – Weber Genesis II

You’re the life of the party, and the nucleus of your social circle. It doesn’t matter what you do, because you make it fun.

The Weber Genesis II is perfect for a social griller. This high-powered gas grill gives you everything you need plus a Flavorizer bar for improving taste on the simplest foods. There’s also storage and a warming rack for serving big groups.

If you’d like to step away to mingle, it’s ready to connect the iGrill Bluetooth thermometer. This will alert your phone once your food reaches your set temperature.

Flashy – DCS by Fisher & Paykel

You beam with sophistication and style, and you aren’t afraid of luxury brands and state-of-the-art features. With as hard as you work, you deserve them. You need an advanced system for browning rotisserie chicken and simmering your coveted BBQ sauce.

DCS provides premium standalone and built-in grills for your custom designed outdoor space. Go for long-term quality and flexibility while enjoying high-tech features such as stadium-style hood lights and bezel lit control dials.

What is GrillFest?

Featured Photo Credit of Minnesota Monthly and TJ Turner

What is better than opening the gate to summer with an outdoor food fest?  How about a food fest, a beer fest, an expo and a gathering of people grilling out and enjoying festivities. Together, over 4,000 attendees and 100 vendors will make up the most popular grilling themed event in the Twin Cities.

#GrillFest is a weekend long event that celebrates grilling and chilling with awesome food, drinks and fun. It’s essentially “Grill Disney Land” for enthusiasts and food fanatics alike.

One expected highlight is when seven critically-acclaimed restaurants will team up with seven unique craft beer breweries to battle it out. They will compete for the title of taste as they serve up the best pairs for attendees to taste and vote on.

An additional competition will consist of Bloody Mary mix companies going head-to-head to serve their signature drinks, using Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Attendees will again get to vote on who gets to be crowned Grillfest’s Bloody Mary Champion.

Rain or shine, it’s grillin’ time.

Warners’ Stellian is going to be there to serve up some goodies, and we’re bringing our friends, No Name Premium Meats & Seafood and Flat Earth Brewing.

We will also have experts on-site from WeberTraegerNapoleonDCSPrimo, and Broil King to showcase some of the best grill brands available, and we will help you find the perfect pairing for your backyard.

After you fill up on salmon and steak from No Name, you’ll find a sweet ending as you roast-your-own s’mores over our Big Green Egg smoker grills.

In honor of GrillFest, we would like to invite you to enter to win a top-of-the line Traeger Timberline, worth $2,000. Learn more about the Traeger Timberline here.

Sneak a peek at featured deals for 2013 Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale

Our Extreme Warehouse Sale started almost 10 years ago when we were preparing to move to our new, bigger warehouse.

wsextreme5

We figured we’d have a warehouse sale to sell off as much inventory as possible to lighten our load for the upcoming migration.

The Warner Stellian warehouse sale proved so successful, we’ve been holding it twice a year since then to get rid of floor model appliances, closeouts, scratch and dent and discontinued merchandise so we can make room for new arrivals.

However, demand has become so great, we also now make special buys of appliances to offer to our Extreme Sale-goers.  Basically, the sale’s success has allowed us to purchase deeply discounted appliances from the manufacturers by the truckload — so you’ll see amazing prices in every category.

If you want to see some of these special buys, sign up to receive an email of our featured deals! Click the image below.

HOW TO: shop the Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale 2012

What is it with us Midwesterners and our deal-bragging? You know: upon receiving a compliment we gloat about the gasp-worthy low price we got it for, unsolicited. Perhaps it’s because we fancy ourselves pro deal hunters.

But our Extreme Warehouse Sale this Saturday and Sunday is no Macy’s clearance rack. I’m talkin’ big-ticket items at huge discounts: you need to prepare a bit. The savings are so hot, all sales are final.

Luckily for you, I’ve compiled the secrets of the pros — tips that will prepare any appliance rookie for the big league.

Here are some Extreme Sale pros, lined up before the sale.

Before the sale

Don’t be a fool; Use this tool.

Measure your space
Don’t learn the hard way: there is no “standard” in appliance sizes. Use a measuring tape on the available space — not the existing appliance — and write down dimensions to bring to the sale.

Also, measure the width of the doorways and staircases the appliance will need to travel through.

Know your fuel type
You’ll need to know whether you have a gas or electric hookup when buying a dryer, a range or a cooktop.

Consider your hinges
For example, some refrigerators on sale will be left hinge only. Wouldn’t it be terrible to find a great deal on a fridge only to get it home and not be able to open it? Also know what side you want the hinges on a front-load washer and any type of dryer, in case there’s an option.

Do some research
We’ll have more than 2,000 appliances available at the start of the sale, so have something in mind to avoid frustration. The best tip? Know what you like and don’t like about your existing model. Check out our Web site for more ideas on what features are important to you.

The day of the sale

Bring a hauling vehicle
Usually, we offer free delivery on purchases $499 and above, but this sale is anything but usual. Our warehouse is full of products, so we encourage customers to take their purchases with them the day of the sale. We’ll help you load it up and everything.

If you do choose to have it delivered, it’s $75 and you must take delivery within 14 days.

Know your schedule
We’ll arrange for delivery and any installation for built-in appliances (available for additional charges) at the time of sale. We’ll call you the day before the delivery with an AM/PM estimate and our crew can call you before they arrive if you need to meet them at your house.

Pack a stroller
Our warehouse is a warehouse. It’s clean and safe, but it’s also big and crowded and without a play area. Strollers work well to keep small children nearby when you’re shopping the selection.

appliancewarehousesale

After the sale

Receive delivery/install time estimate
You’ll receive a call with an AM/PM estimate the day before your scheduled delivery and/or install.

Apply for rebates
You could qualify for even more savings by rebate. Once you receive your product, you can fill in the serial number (the delivery crew can help you locate this) on your rebate forms and submit them promptly, as they expire.

Don’t waste your investment because you lack product knowledge.

Read your manual
Knowing your new product can help you save time and improve the quality of your cooking and cleaning. Stow it somewhere memorable to refer to for troubleshooting and general operation questions.

Don’t ignore accessories

If you get a dishwasher, buy rinse aid to help dry your dishes. If you buy a smooth-top electric range, you’ll want cooktop cleaner to keep it looking new. The water filter in your fridge will need to be replaced every six to 12 months. And please, for the sake of your breathing, don’t overstuff your vacuum bags!

Visit my blog
Every Wednesday, I attack the FAQs plaguing our industry. Hard-hitting questions like, “Why is my washer smelly?” and “How do I clean stainless steel?” It’s also an easy way to reach me if you need help. Plus, you’ll be the first to know about the next Extreme Sale!

5 things you need to know about the Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale 2012

1. Thousands of deals, hundreds of appliances below cost

Warner Stellian Appliance PACKS the floor of our appliance warehouse with over 2,500 deals — hundreds of those at or below cost — including brands that “never go on sale.”

You’ll find floor models, discontinued models, scratch and dent appliances — you name it. But, all items come with full factory warranty. Usually we deliver for free with purchases $499 and up, but this isn’t your usual appliance purchase. So, delivery is $75 to the metro area (outside areas are additional). Take your purchase with you for maximum savings. Professional installation is available for built-in items.

2. This weekend…only!
No pre-shopping nor post-shopping. We open the doors this Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 a.m. and keep chugging till 5:30 p.m. taking a quick break to prepare for our Sunday sale on Oct. 28 from 11 to 5.

3. It’s called a warehouse sale for a reason
We hold it in our warehouse — which is actually quite roomy and clean — because none of our other stores could accommodate the volume we do this weekend. So don’t expect to find the sale at our stores. Instead, navigate to Warners’ Stellian’s St. Paul Warehouse, approximately 1 mile north of 94 off Dale Street

4. You’re in good company
Each Extreme Warehouse Sale, we get thousands of people through our doors. Approximate 3,500 “groups” (we don’t count people individually because people usually make purchases as a family/couple) receive assistance from our 120 or so staff on hand to select the right product, check out, load your purchases into cars, etc.

5. No other sale like it
We prepare half the year for this sale, and it’s been so successful that manufacturers have gotten behind it and helped us offer deals worth getting excited about. The offers are hot because we not only offer closeout appliances, floor models, scratch and dent items and discontinued models, we now make special buys specifically for the sale — some even new, in-the-box. This year, we’re offering our largest-ever selection of professional cooking and refrigeration appliances, too!

Want to see what some of those special buys are? We offer no sneak peaks of the warehouse — no exceptions — but we always share a few featured items we’ve bought special for this year’s sale.

Sign up for our email list and we’ll send that selection directly to your inbox on Wednesday.

Don’t miss our featured appliance deals for the Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale this weekend

Usually Warner Stellian Appliance holds its Extreme Warehouse Sale the second weekend of November, but this year, we were so excited we couldn’t wait any longer.

We moved it up to the last weekend of October, which is this Saturday and Sunday.

When and where is it?

Saturday, Oct. 27 from 7-5:30
Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11-5

Warner Stellian’s St. Paul Warehouse
550 Atwater Circle
1 mile north of I-94 and Dale at Topping Street

What’s on sale?

Well, we can’t tell you that — it would ruin the surprise for everyone. BUT we will share a selection of featured products that will be on hand, while supplies last, via email on Wednesday.

Join our email list and you’ll get to check out these special purchases we’ve made for the sale.

Do NOT call trying to find out specific models and prices of what’s in the warehouse. Most of us don’t know. Those who do won’t tell you. It’s only fair to all our shoppers.

Like we do every year, we’ll have hundreds of deeply discounted appliances in every category and major brand. Plus, all the specialty items such as high-quality vacuums, wine and beverage refrigeration and grills.

But this year, the rumor is we’ll have our largest-ever selection of professional cooking appliances and built-in refrigeration. So, here’s your chance to step up to that high-end range you always dreamed of and still be able to afford the food you want to cook on it.

See you this weekend!

Come play cards with the Maytag Repairman

Because he has absolutely nothing else to do, the Maytag Repairman is visiting a couple Warner Stellian Appliance stores this Thursday, Oct. 11.

The iconic figure has been biding his time since 1967 (see

), though he looks a little different these days: younger, more technologically inclined as Maytag adds innovation to its reputation as dependable. (i.e. my Maytag refrigerator exceeds federal energy standards by 30%, putting it in the Tier 3 category of CEE ratings.)

But he’s still absolutely available. So cards it is.

His likely adept skills at solitaire won’t necessarily translate to Go Fish. So come try your hand and give him some company.

If cards aren’t your thing, we’ll take your picture and get you an autograph.

Thursday, We’ll be at our Edina appliance store, 3533 W. 70th St. (across from the Galleria) from 9-10 a.m.

Then we’ll hop over to our Falcon Heights/Roseville/St. Paul appliance store (so amazing it has three names around here), 1711 N. Snelling St. (two blocks north of the State Fairgrounds), from 11-noon.

Hope to see you there.
