At Warners’ Stellian, one of our core values is family, and each new employee becomes a member of our family. In our Spotlight Series, we plan to share a deeper look into the talent that contributes to our success each day. This week, let’s meet Sales Associate Sepia Edwards.
What brought you to Warners’ Stellian?
I have been in the design industry for more than 15 years. I came to Warners’ Stellian because I love helping people visualize the story they want to tell through home appliances and design styles. Warners’ supports and nurtures their employees’ growth and ideas. Knowing I am going to be working another 30 years, it is nice to be a part of a company I can believe in.
What is the most important thing you have learned on the job so far?
Information is key; listen and ask questions. I remind myself it is not about me – I am here to be a source of value and service. My job is about caring enough to listen to customers’ issues and provide them with solutions that fit their needs.
Can you offer any advice for prospective sales candidates?
Sales is all about building trusting relationships, being knowledgeable and resourceful, and loving what you do. If you can incorporate those things daily, you will be successful and happy. Never stop learning, and along those lines, don’t be afraid to ask questions.
What does your dream kitchen look like?
My dream kitchen would be spacious with a beautiful apron-front stainless sink, Cambria countertops, white and navy cabinets and Tigerwood hardwood floors.
Innovation is so rapid in the world of the design that it makes it hard to choose, but there are definitely some must-have appliances for me, such as a double wall oven with convection, 48-inch paneled built-in refrigerator/freezer and the quietest dishwasher with a stainless steel tub and LED lighting.
Hosting dinner parties is one of my favorite things to do, so I would love an open concept. I enjoy the idea of a multifunctional space where different spots tell different stories. My family would enjoy a 10-foot island that would house a combi-steam oven and induction cooktop for quick feasts, and dishwasher drawers for quick and quiet cleanup.
Outside of cooking and hosting, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy showing my children what the Minnesota art scene has to offer. I spend a lot of time remaking furniture, personal shopping for my friends and family and running.
You work at our newest store in Northeast Minneapolis. What do you love about the neighborhood?
The architecture and running trails are beautiful. I also enjoy taking my children to the Stone Arch Bridge for gelato or to visit the farmers market.
