Sneak a peek at featured deals for 2013 Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale

March 4, 2013

Our Extreme Warehouse Sale started almost 10 years ago when we were preparing to move to our new, bigger warehouse.

wsextreme5

We figured we’d have a warehouse sale to sell off as much inventory as possible to lighten our load for the upcoming migration.

The Warner Stellian warehouse sale proved so successful, we’ve been holding it twice a year since then to get rid of floor model appliances, closeouts, scratch and dent and discontinued merchandise so we can make room for new arrivals.

However, demand has become so great, we also now make special buys of appliances to offer to our Extreme Sale-goers.  Basically, the sale’s success has allowed us to purchase deeply discounted appliances from the manufacturers by the truckload — so you’ll see amazing prices in every category.

If you want to see some of these special buys, sign up to receive an email of our featured deals! Click the image below.

HOW TO: shop the Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale 2012

October 25, 2012

What is it with us Midwesterners and our deal-bragging? You know: upon receiving a compliment we gloat about the gasp-worthy low price we got it for, unsolicited. Perhaps it’s because we fancy ourselves pro deal hunters.

But our Extreme Warehouse Sale this Saturday and Sunday is no Macy’s clearance rack. I’m talkin’ big-ticket items at huge discounts: you need to prepare a bit. The savings are so hot, all sales are final.

Luckily for you, I’ve compiled the secrets of the pros — tips that will prepare any appliance rookie for the big league.

Here are some Extreme Sale pros, lined up before the sale.

Before the sale

Don’t be a fool; Use this tool.

Measure your space
Don’t learn the hard way: there is no “standard” in appliance sizes. Use a measuring tape on the available space — not the existing appliance — and write down dimensions to bring to the sale.

Also, measure the width of the doorways and staircases the appliance will need to travel through.

Know your fuel type
You’ll need to know whether you have a gas or electric hookup when buying a dryer, a range or a cooktop.

Consider your hinges
For example, some refrigerators on sale will be left hinge only. Wouldn’t it be terrible to find a great deal on a fridge only to get it home and not be able to open it? Also know what side you want the hinges on a front-load washer and any type of dryer, in case there’s an option.

Do some research
We’ll have more than 2,000 appliances available at the start of the sale, so have something in mind to avoid frustration. The best tip? Know what you like and don’t like about your existing model. Check out our Web site for more ideas on what features are important to you.

Get preapproved
You MUST pay for your purchase at the time of sale, though we certainly have financing options to help you pay. Save time by getting approved online at home. Just make sure to bring in your approval slip with your new account number for our files.

Also, even if you’re financing the purchase, you must pay the sales tax at the time of sale.

The day of the sale

Bring a hauling vehicle
Usually, we offer free delivery on purchases $499 and above, but this sale is anything but usual. Our warehouse is full of products, so we encourage customers to take their purchases with them the day of the sale. We’ll help you load it up and everything.

If you do choose to have it delivered, it’s $75 and you must take delivery within 14 days.

Know your schedule
We’ll arrange for delivery and any installation for built-in appliances (available for additional charges) at the time of sale. We’ll call you the day before the delivery with an AM/PM estimate and our crew can call you before they arrive if you need to meet them at your house.

Pack a stroller
Our warehouse is a warehouse. It’s clean and safe, but it’s also big and crowded and without a play area. Strollers work well to keep small children nearby when you’re shopping the selection.

appliancewarehousesale

After the sale

Receive delivery/install time estimate
You’ll receive a call with an AM/PM estimate the day before your scheduled delivery and/or install.

Apply for rebates
You could qualify for even more savings by rebate. Once you receive your product, you can fill in the serial number (the delivery crew can help you locate this) on your rebate forms and submit them promptly, as they expire.

Don’t waste your investment because you lack product knowledge.

Read your manual
Knowing your new product can help you save time and improve the quality of your cooking and cleaning. Stow it somewhere memorable to refer to for troubleshooting and general operation questions.

Don’t ignore accessories

If you get a dishwasher, buy rinse aid to help dry your dishes. If you buy a smooth-top electric range, you’ll want cooktop cleaner to keep it looking new. The water filter in your fridge will need to be replaced every six to 12 months. And please, for the sake of your breathing, don’t overstuff your vacuum bags!

Visit my blog
Every Wednesday, I attack the FAQs plaguing our industry. Hard-hitting questions like, “Why is my washer smelly?” and “How do I clean stainless steel?” It’s also an easy way to reach me if you need help. Plus, you’ll be the first to know about the next Extreme Sale!

5 things you need to know about the Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale 2012

October 23, 2012

1. Thousands of deals, hundreds of appliances below cost

Warner Stellian Appliance PACKS the floor of our appliance warehouse with over 2,500 deals — hundreds of those at or below cost — including brands that “never go on sale.”

You’ll find floor models, discontinued models, scratch and dent appliances — you name it. But, all items come with full factory warranty. Usually we deliver for free with purchases $499 and up, but this isn’t your usual appliance purchase. So, delivery is $75 to the metro area (outside areas are additional). Take your purchase with you for maximum savings. Professional installation is available for built-in items.

2. This weekend…only!
No pre-shopping nor post-shopping. We open the doors this Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 a.m. and keep chugging till 5:30 p.m. taking a quick break to prepare for our Sunday sale on Oct. 28 from 11 to 5.

3. It’s called a warehouse sale for a reason
We hold it in our warehouse — which is actually quite roomy and clean — because none of our other stores could accommodate the volume we do this weekend. So don’t expect to find the sale at our stores. Instead, navigate to Warners’ Stellian’s St. Paul Warehouse, approximately 1 mile north of 94 off Dale Street

4. You’re in good company
Each Extreme Warehouse Sale, we get thousands of people through our doors. Approximate 3,500 “groups” (we don’t count people individually because people usually make purchases as a family/couple) receive assistance from our 120 or so staff on hand to select the right product, check out, load your purchases into cars, etc.

5. No other sale like it
We prepare half the year for this sale, and it’s been so successful that manufacturers have gotten behind it and helped us offer deals worth getting excited about. The offers are hot because we not only offer closeout appliances, floor models, scratch and dent items and discontinued models, we now make special buys specifically for the sale — some even new, in-the-box. This year, we’re offering our largest-ever selection of professional cooking and refrigeration appliances, too!

Want to see what some of those special buys are? We offer no sneak peaks of the warehouse — no exceptions — but we always share a few featured items we’ve bought special for this year’s sale.

Sign up for our email list and we’ll send that selection directly to your inbox on Wednesday.

Don’t miss our featured appliance deals for the Warner Stellian Warehouse Sale this weekend

October 22, 2012

Usually Warner Stellian Appliance holds its Extreme Warehouse Sale the second weekend of November, but this year, we were so excited we couldn’t wait any longer.

We moved it up to the last weekend of October, which is this Saturday and Sunday.

When and where is it?

Saturday, Oct. 27 from 7-5:30
Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11-5

Warner Stellian’s St. Paul Warehouse
550 Atwater Circle
1 mile north of I-94 and Dale at Topping Street

What’s on sale?

Well, we can’t tell you that — it would ruin the surprise for everyone. BUT we will share a selection of featured products that will be on hand, while supplies last, via email on Wednesday.

Join our email list and you’ll get to check out these special purchases we’ve made for the sale.

Do NOT call trying to find out specific models and prices of what’s in the warehouse. Most of us don’t know. Those who do won’t tell you. It’s only fair to all our shoppers.

Like we do every year, we’ll have hundreds of deeply discounted appliances in every category and major brand. Plus, all the specialty items such as high-quality vacuums, wine and beverage refrigeration and grills.

But this year, the rumor is we’ll have our largest-ever selection of professional cooking appliances and built-in refrigeration. So, here’s your chance to step up to that high-end range you always dreamed of and still be able to afford the food you want to cook on it.

See you this weekend!

Come play cards with the Maytag Repairman

October 10, 2012

Because he has absolutely nothing else to do, the Maytag Repairman is visiting a couple Warner Stellian Appliance stores this Thursday, Oct. 11.

The iconic figure has been biding his time since 1967 (see ), though he looks a little different these days: younger, more technologically inclined as Maytag adds innovation to its reputation as dependable. (i.e. my Maytag refrigerator exceeds federal energy standards by 30%, putting it in the Tier 3 category of CEE ratings.)

But he’s still absolutely available. So cards it is.

His likely adept skills at solitaire won’t necessarily translate to Go Fish. So come try your hand and give him some company.

If cards aren’t your thing, we’ll take your picture and get you an autograph.

Thursday, We’ll be at our Edina appliance store, 3533 W. 70th St. (across from the Galleria) from 9-10 a.m.

Then we’ll hop over to our Falcon Heights/Roseville/St. Paul appliance store (so amazing it has three names around here), 1711 N. Snelling St. (two blocks north of the State Fairgrounds), from 11-noon.

Hope to see you there.

Tour the beautiful homes of Summit Hill

September 4, 2012

I think a lot of us, especially those who grew up near St. Paul, went (or still go!) to “see the houses on Summit.” Just driving by these beautiful, storied mansions imparts such a feeling of awe and wonder (especially about what’s inside, right?).

Well, every two years, the Summit Hill Association offers you the chance to indulge your curiosities and — for one day — peek into the history of its popular neighborhood during the Summit Hill House Tour. This year’s tour is this Sunday, Sept. 9 from noon to 6 p.m.

Again this year, Warner Stellian is the proud presenting sponsor of the self-guided tour, which includes about 12 private home interiors. Residents of Summit Hill have been our loyal customers for years, and we’ve enjoyed outfitting their homes with the finest appliances as well.

We hope you can join us, either by buying a ticket and going on the tour or by signing up to volunteer (then your ticket is free and you get to come to the afterparty!).

The history of the tour, from its website:

Since it began in 1972, the Summit Hill House Tour has been a hit for Twin Cities’ folks and those far beyond the metro area. In fact, it is one of the most popular historic house tours in the nation. This biennial event (every even year) is the major fund-raiser for the Summit Hill Association (SHA) that supports every program or event sponsored by SHA. The programs and events include — communications (newsletter and website), promotion and recruitment of citizen volunteers, crime prevention block and building clubs organizing, neighborhood review of zoning applications, annual clean-up drives, park and Grand Avenue  “greening” beautification efforts, recycling, traffic calming and much more!

Hear Jeff Warner talk about his love for the tour:

Appliance energy savings — on a stick

August 24, 2012

Warner Stellian enjoys a storied history with the State Fairgrounds. And for the last few years, our appliances have made a comeback appearance at the Minnesota State Fair.

The Eco Experience, located in the Progress Center on Randall Avenue, brings together organizations, ideas, and hands-on activities to show what the fair-goers what they can do at home to help the environment.

(By the way…while you’re saving the environment…By replacing your refrigerator, washer, dishwasher and freezer from the 1980s to new Energy Star appliances you can save an average $350 a year in energy costs. Save away!)

Warner Stellian is partnering with the Fair again this year to demonstrate the options for choosing energy efficient applicances. Our display consists of a vignette of a kitchen (with island cabinet) and ENERGY STAR refrigeratordishwasher, and other appliances with an adjacent laundry room demonstrating a HE washer and dryer.

ENERGY STAR qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use up to 50% less energy and water than older models. If you’re already in the market for new appliances, choosing ENERGY STAR appliances over standard appliances will cost you an average $80 less annually in water and energy (even if they cost a few more smackeroos upfront).

Also included is an ENERGY STAR freezer, air conditioner and dehumidifier.

You’ll find tips on how to decrease the energy you use on the appliances you already own.

If you like PowerPoint, awkward blondes and saving energy, come see me at the Eco Experience Sustainability Stage this Sunday, Aug. 26 at 2:30 p.m. I’ll be showing you how to save money and energy both when you purchase new appliances  and when you use what you’ve already got at home.

Bringing your family to work

May 3, 2012

Last week was this year’s national Take Your Child to Work Day. Or as my dad and I call it, “Thursday.”

Warner Stellian is not only a family-owned business, but we employ Warner fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, cousins, nieces and nephews…you name it! (In fact, we’re proud recipients of the 2012 St. Thomas University Entrepreneur Awards Family Business of the Year).

But we’re really proud of the fact that some of our longtime employees also bring their children and family members on to get jobs here.

You can see we truly value the importance of family, which is why we were so excited when our staff participate in Take Your Kids to Work Day.

Our five guests — Leeah, Jordan, Preston, Addy, and Jessica — toured our office and appliance warehouse, participated in a mock interview, visited our Woodbury appliance store, watched our Styrofoam compacter in action, learned how we design our advertisements and rode in a delivery truck and a forklift, which was the crowd favorite.

We look forward to having them every year and who knows? Maybe we’ll be working with them in the future.

Grill Expo this weekend: Learn from the BBQ experts

April 13, 2012

Our tastiest event of the year happens this weekend. Can you believe it’s already our 10th Annual Grill Expo?

This Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 at all Warners’ Stellian Appliance stores (except Minneapolis Outlet), you can see – and taste – the difference among the
latest models of quality gas, charcoal and smoker grills during grilling
demonstrations by experts on top brands, like Weber Grill, Holland Grill, Vermont Castings and DCS Outdoor.

Joe Warner talks grilling trends with Tim McNiff and Kim Insley of KARE11 Sunrise.

So what’s new in grills? Japanese Kamado-style smoker grills like the Big Green Egg and the Primo Grill have soared in popularity. This ceramic charcoal barbecue and smoker can reach extremely high temperatures (past 700 degrees) to quickly fire a Neapolitan pizza, but allow total control — maintaining accuracy within a few degrees. They can cook a hotdog in four minutes or smoke a brisket low and slow overnight.

Like we’ve seen with ranges, gas grills are becoming bigger, more powerful and more feature-heavy (i.e. built-in rotisseries, side burners, sear burners and sleek stainless steel styling).

Warners’ Stellian will have discounts on all grills, plus free assembly and delivery on grills priced $499 and up. Better yet, buy a grill $599 and get 2 certificates for complimentary products from No Name Premium Meats & Seafood (Twin Cities locations only) or a $50 gift card to Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe in Rochester.

WHEN:  Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. & Sunday, April 15 from
noon to 4 p.m.
