I am a big advocate of Dacor products....I think you would be very pleased with their cooktop/downdraft combo.
My favorite feature of that cooktop is the "bead-blasted" stainless steel surface. It is very attractive, but most importantly, it is very easy to clean. It is much less likely to scratch when compared to a brushed stainless surface. There are many other features that I am certain you would appreciate, please contact me at the store if you would like to speak further!

Thank you,

My Cook'n'Vent has the pop up vent, that when not in use, is pretty flush with the counter top.
I need four burners and the top should be easy to clean. I really don't want to mess with my gas lines too much.

Thanks.

Marsha,

First, is your Thermador a Cook N' Vent model that has a vent attached though? As for suggestions, of course Dacor is a worthy option -- thanks Tim.

But of course it depends on what you're looking for and how you will use it. Some of the best questions to help guide your selection are what you like and dislike about your current model.

Julie,
I am looking to do a little work in my kitchen and my contractor suggested I look into a new gas cooktop and fridge. The existing cooktop is a stainless Thermador, probably from the 70's/80's.
I don't have to stick with a cooktop that fits exactly in that space, do I? I am planning on replacing my counters so the hole can differ in size a bit. My gas line comes up from the cupboard under the cooktop.
Do you have a couple suggestions, as what I should look at first?
