It was a good program for a lot of Minnesotans, I believe. Hopefully, it educated homeowners in general about the benefits of energy-efficient appliances.

It is wonderful when government steps up with incentives like these to both stimulate the economy and “reduce the load” at the same time.

Living in South Africa we’ve experienced free compact fluorescent globes (some of us anyways…LOL) and rebates on solar geysers (but not the affordable low pressure versions which can be seen everywhere, but only for approved mega-expensive high-pressure systems, for which there were a couple of hundred subsidies paid out last year)

It would be fabulous if our government could come up with an effective program, just like Minnesota’s.
